Trip Introduction:
Gokyo valley (4,750m/15,583ft), at the base of Gokyo Ri, in the Khumbu region is a settlement located at the highest elevation in the world. At Gokyo, one can explore the upper valley providing majestic vista of the Everest and other surrounding mountains. Gokyo valley, undoubtedly, is one of the most popular trekking destination for adventure enthusiasts around the globe.

The trek takes off from Lukla and conceding at a higher-elevation point of Gokyo Ri.One can enjoy breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys, glacier lakes and mountains.

Sagarmatha National Park (UNESCO World heritage site) located in the Khumbu region is a haven for Eco-tourists. One can also have a chance of observing and mingling with Sherpa, the local inhabitants of Everest region (Sherpa are most popular in the mountain climbing domain -assisting climbs and undertaking rescue missions). Musk dear, Mountain goats, Colourful Pheasants, Red panda and Snow leopard are common sightings in the region. Being predominantly Buddhist, the region consists of monasteries, many of which are aesthetically influenced by the neighbouring Tibetan culture. Tengboche Monastery is one of the famous monastery in the region.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft) & trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft), 3-4 hrs walk
Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft), 5-6 hrs walk
Day 04: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar
Day 05: Trek to Dole (4200m/13,776ft), 5-6 hrs walk
Day 06: Trek to Machharmo (4470m/ 14,663ft), 4-5 hrs walk
Day 07: Trek to Gokyo (4800m/15,744ft), 3-4 hrs walk
Day 08: Explore day at Gokyo
Day 09: Gokyo to Phorse Village/ Phorste Thanga (3680 m), 5 to 6 hrs walk
Day 10: Phortse to Tyangboche (3,867m/12684ft), 5-6 hrs walk
Day 11: Tyangboche to Namche via Khumjung(3,790m/12,431ft), 6 - 7 hours walk
Day 12: Trek back to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft), 4-5 hrs walk
Day 13: Fly back to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Day 14: Departure from Kathmandu

Note: Because of bad weather we could face problem of domestic flights to/from Lukla delayed by few hours or canceled for a day or more. Very rarely, but it could happen even in best trekking season also as you know how climate changes effecting our world. Thus, we always recommend you to add supplement night/s in Kathmandu after your trek if possible (just for incase). If everything runs smoothly, you can enjoy other activities like sightseeing, White water rafting, wildlife activities, shopping, as you wish in those additional day. However, if you want heli rescue in the state of flight cancellation to/from Lukla-we can organize it as per your request with extra cost.
